Pot found in car of man who showed up at wrong address for Craigslist purchase

A Bronx man who allegedly showed up to the wrong home to buy a used car earlier this month was in court yesterday.  Monroe Police responded to a report of three people banging on a resident's door on Labor Day.  Among them was 21-year old Givan Mendoza.  The Monroe Courier reports that they then showed police a Craigslist ad, which had a West Haven address.  While talking with the occupants, officers could smell marijuana.  A search of the vehicle turned up numerous small bags containing marijuana, a scale and nearly $600 cash.  Police also found a loaded BB gun in the trunk.  Police determined that Mendoza owned the backpack and was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.
